Bernadette Estrada is a LA native, now living in Portland, Oregon with her partner, Ruthie and their 3 four legged cuties.
My education came from emulating my dad while he painted in his studio. That and practice, practice, practice over the years. And paying attention to other artists along the way.
My paintings are raw examples of the confusion, impulsivity, frustration and lightheartedness of my thinking.
This is a celebration of my acceptance of the woman I have become, with this body and this mind.
I strive to create paintings that invite the viewer to appreciate and comprehend how I walk this earth.
Again and again and again in front of an empty canvas is where I find peace. Where I can rest.
With colors, shapes, words, intensity and playfulness, this is me.
